Babe of Brooklyn

The challenge: To elevate a local artisan product into a brand that can be sold at high-end retail boutiques, without losing its soulful sensibility.

The solve: Celebrate your roots. A hand-drawn baseball script with stencil details evoked historical Brooklyn, but also aligned with the lifestyle products sold in the local contemporary market. Octagonal accents, thin rule lines, and mixed typography was reminiscent of apothecary labels. The palette was purposefully constrained with deep blues and golds, a rich combination that reminded the founder of his father's nautical career. Lastly, the high-build gloss varnish on the textured blue box exuded luxury without garish decoration. Design included: branding, website, and packaging.
