UnConvention Philadelphia
The challenge: To promote the “disruptive thinkers” featured in this 3-day conference in a seamless attendee experience—across several touchpoints, environments, and experiences.
The solve: Take it to the streets. Inspired by Philly’s murals, urban art scene, wheat paste posters, the rebellious energy of the Founding Fathers, and Ben Franklin’s history as a printer, the concept of “Poster Show” was born. Every designer in the studio participated and approximately 30 posters were designed, featuring keynote speakers and events. This eclectic collection came to life as environments, social and digital applications, and within printed pieces throughout. A final highlight of the system included custom blackletter calligraphy with overspray to marry Philadelphia’s historical backdrop with our street-inspired theme. Design included: creative concept, environmental graphics, illustration and poster artwork, custom typography and calligraphy, animation, badge and lanyard, giveaway packaging, print material, and digital marketing. Direction included: website, app, advertising, animation, poster art, giveaway packaging, print material, digital marketing, and on-site installation. Note: Chris Riely provided design support with the newspaper layout. Created at Thinkso.
