UnConvention New Orleans

The challenge: To celebrate the rich history of New Orleans in all touchpoints leading up to, and during, the 3-day conference.

The solve: Indulge in the city’s historical flavor. Once the New Orleans Board of Trade and Preservation Hall were confirmed as venues, the design shifted towards the past. A custom crest adorned the Board of Trade exterior in different media—as a flag, printed on scrim fences and banners, and as distressed appliques on the door, above its original inspiration. Century-old drawings of the New Orleans port and the Mississippi River adorned the exterior of the Board of Trade, paying homage to both the venue and the roots of trading practices. The speak-easy themed gala displayed local historic photography, converted event branding into Art Deco styling, borrowed speakeasy language, and featured images of the evening’s keynote speaker and performer. Design included: visual concept, environmental graphics, printed material, advertising, badge and lanyard, and giveaway packaging. Direction included: environmental graphics, website, app, printed material, digital marketing, screen displays, menus, and giveaway packaging. Created at Thinkso.
